This will keep us on our toes, or rather finger tips.
I thought some days I would just let it all pass by, but who doesn't like a challenge?
A couple of great articles in The Age today.
The inventor of Trivial Pursuit passed away. Have a read about how he developed the game with a friend over a game of scrabble.
Also a comment piece about whatever you put out there online contributes to your reputation.
Have a read at of this article by Leslie Cannold.
I hope this works - my first attempt at linking - something new I have learnt today!

Hooray Davida... links are probably the second-most important thing about blogging (with number one being self-expression).
ReplyDeleteIn relation to that Age article about Shaping your online image: I've been pondering Leslie's points, those of commenters, and the possible attitudes and choices of people who display material that could negatively impact their reputation.
I remember when I was young and the warning to girls about their reputation was in the nature of preserving an appearance of chastity. Did the sexual revolution - and the improvement in society such that it became (mostly) inappropriate to judge anyone on their private sexual decisions - lead to an associated disdain for any concept of preserving reputation?
One commenter expressed the thought that "Why would I want to work for a company who spys on me?" And I immediately thought of the 6 degrees of separation, and "it's a small world" theories... that it wouldn't necessarily take a deliberate effort of spying. Why would I take a chance that a future prospective employer might have had a completely chance encounter with material I post online? Of course there is another point of view again: whether or not someone posts online a photo or other information of questionable conduct (for example) - there is the conduct itself already existing, and potentially witnessed and gossiped about. Oh and that someone else might have photographed and post without our knowledge.
A tool I have found useful (sometimes) for quoting in my blog from interesting online sources is kwout - it is unfortunately only available as an add-on to the Firefox browser.
Hi Davida,
ReplyDeleteLoving your blog! I'm just getting into links as well, I think we'll all be professional bloggers by the end of this experience! =)
As for the challenge, I think I might take it up to!
